Frequently Asked Questions

For Volunteers

What volunteer positions are available?

Our “Puppy Raiser” program is key to the success of PSD. Puppy Raisers volunteer to bring our dogs in training into their homes to help train and prepare them for their jobs as professional service dogs. You can find more details on puppy raising here.

PSD also welcomes volunteers who create and manage fundraisers independently. More info can be found here.

Do Puppy Raisers have to commit to a full year of training?

Our minimum time commitment for Puppy Raisers is one month.

Is there a volunteer application?

Yes. You can find the online application here. After you submit the application, a PSD representative will contact you.

Can someone volunteer to walk dogs, play with puppies, or clean kennels?

No. Our training facility is inside our WOOF Prison Program, so there are no opportunities to volunteer for a single day.

Does the WOOF Prison Program accept volunteers?

No. PSD does not accept WOOF Program volunteers.
