Julie Sanderson

With over 20 years of service dog experience, Sanderson co-founded Patriot Service Dogs in 2009 and created the W.O.O.F. program at Lowell Correctional Institution in 2011. Sanderson holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Management from the College of Central Florida and a Master’s of Social Work from Saint Leo University.

Ivette Alvarez
Board Member & Secretary
Alvarez is a dedicated service dog trainer and advocate for returning citizens. She is a certified Canine Good Citizen evaluator and fluent in Spanish. Alvarez has been involved with PSD since 2013.
Lori Frye
Board Member & Treasurer
Lori Frye was born in San Diego, California, and moved to Jacksonville in the early 1970s as a daughter of a Navy soldier. She graduated from Terry Parker Senior High and received her bachelor’s degree in 2017 from American Public University.
Her career started at a restaurant doing payroll, helping the auditor, and then doing various accounting roles at an aircraft maintenance facility, residential home building, and a non-profit organization specializing in senior living in Jacksonville. Today, she is a Senior Accountant with an accounting background of over 20+ years of experience.
Lori currently resides in Fleming Island with her husband and three dogs. Since 2016, she has served as Treasurer on the Patriot Service Dogs board. Her love and passion are for military veterans and dogs; she, also, enjoys doing crafty things.
Brigadier General Scott Wiggins was commissioned as an officer at the Air Force’s Officer Training School (OTS) in 1987. In 1989, he was accepted to attend Undergraduate Pilot Training. In 1991, he received his pilot wings and was awarded the Leadership Trophy for being the top officer in the program. He was assigned to Charleston Air Force Base, SC where he flew C-141 aircraft. In his four-year assignment, he flew missions in support of Operation Desert Storm as well as operations in Rwanda, Somalia, Kosovo, Haiti, and Panama. In 1995, he was assigned to Altus Air Force Base, OK where he served as an instructor and evaluator pilot teaching pilots everything from basic to advance aviation skills. In 1996, he accepted a special duty assignment with Air Force One serving as an advance agent for operations for the President of the United States. In 1998, he transitioned to the Mississippi Air National Guard. During his tenure, he was promoted to major, lieutenant colonel and colonel. He flew C-141 and C-17 aircraft. He deployed on numerous occasions in support of operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. He commanded organizations ranging in size from 10 to 3,000 people. In 2011, he accepted the interim commandant then vice commandant position at the Air Force’s Officer Training School at Maxwell AFB, AL. He was promoted to Brigadier General and retired in 2013. In 2023, Wiggins received a service dog from Patriot Service Dogs.
