Pre-Application Course

This course was created with grant support from the IRCC Foundation.

Welcome to the Patriot Service Dogs application preparation course.

The goal of this course is to help you answer three important questions:

• Should I apply for a service dog?
• Is now the right time?
• Is Patriot Service Dogs the right organization for me?

If this course helps you answer those questions honestly, whether your answer is “yes,” “not yet,” or “another organization is a better fit,” then it has done what it was meant to do.

This course is not required to apply with Patriot Service Dogs, but it is highly recommended. If you choose to apply to Patriot Service Dogs, you are welcome to include your Certificate of Course Completion and any written reflection responses that helped shape your decision. These materials are optional, but they may help our team better understand your goals, preparation, and expectations.

The full class takes approximately 2½ hours to complete. Additional time may be needed for the reflection questions.
